WATER TREATMENT EQUIPMENT

Advancements in water treatment technology have affected all areas of industrial water treatment. Although mechanical filtration, such as reverse osmosis, is widely employed to filter contaminants, other technologies including the use of ozone generators, wastewater evaporation, electro deionization, and bioremediation are also able to address the challenges of industrial water treatment. Ozone treatment is a process in which ozone gas is injected into waste streams as a means to reduce or eliminate the need for water treatment chemicals or sanitizers that may be hazardous, including chlorine.

On another hand of water treatment technologies are ion exchange resins. They used to soften water by replacing the cations with sodium ions (and possibly the anions with chloride ions) of sodium chloride. They may also be used to demineralize water where the cations are replaced by H+ ions and the anions are replaced by OH− ions. The high-tech resins are used in the fields of water treatment in power generation and microelectronics industries. The broad range of applications for these small beads of resin includes, for example, the decalcification or desalination and the decarbonization of water or extraction of heavy metals from water to save the equipment from wear and tear.
